National Galleries Scotland portrait
About
Housing Scotland’s national collection of portrait paintings – from royals and rebels to adventurers, poets and film stars – the Scottish National Portrait Gallery opened its doors to the public in 1889. Today this Queen Street landmark is one of Edinburgh’s most striking and in-demand event venues.
With stained glass windows, painted murals and an incredible astrological ceiling, the Great Hall and Ambulatory provide a dramatic backdrop for drinks receptions or dinners, large or small.
A sumptuous gallery space adjoining the Great Hall and Ambulatory, the Ramsay Room invites guests to dine whilst viewing masterpieces from the nation’s portrait collection. It’s often used in conjunction with the Great Hall as a space where guests can enjoy pre-dinner drinks.
The Robertson Room is a brand new contemporary event space. Its stunning red brick walls provide the perfect backdrop for receptions, informal dinners, or post-dinner parties with dancing. Consider adding a drinks reception in the Great Hall prior to seating guests for dinner.
